Service Description

Merj.io is a professional profile platform for developers. We provide tools to create, customize, and share your developer profile through personalized URLs (merj.io/username). Custom domain support is coming soon!

User Accounts

Account Creation

To use Merj.io, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Create a secure password for authentication

Coming Soon: GitHub and Google OAuth authentication options are currently in development.

Username Requirements

Your username must:

• Be 3-30 characters long
• Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
• Not impersonate others or use reserved names
• Be unique across the platform

Usernames cannot be changed once created as they form your profile URL (merj.io/username).

Acceptable Use

You May

• Create an authentic professional developer profile
• Showcase your projects, skills, and experience
• Connect with other developers on the platform
• Share your profile link publicly

You May Not

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Use the platform for spam, phishing, or malicious activities
• Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without permission
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

Content Ownership

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on Merj.io (profile information, project descriptions, etc.). By posting content, you grant us a license to:

• Display your content on your profile
• Store and process your content to provide the service
• Make your public profile accessible to visitors

Our Content

The Merj.io platform, design, logo, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

Third-Party Content

When using photos from Unsplash or linking to external services, you must comply with their respective terms of service and attribution requirements. We are not responsible for third-party content or services.

Subscription and Payments

Merj.io is currently completely free to use with all features included:

Coming Soon: We are working on premium paid plans that will offer advanced features like custom domain support, enhanced analytics, and priority support. Current users will continue to have access to all existing features for free.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of Merj.io, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:

• Perform maintenance and updates
• Modify or discontinue features
• Suspend service for security or technical reasons

Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Use
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Abuse the platform or harm other users
• Leave your account inactive for extended periods

Disclaimer of Warranties

Merj.io is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, secure, or always available.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Merj.io and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or service interruptions.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Merj.io from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these terms.
